According to the Mayan tradition, as well as prophecies from other belief systems and civilizations, we are approaching a very historical event at the end of 2012. In a very simplified way, for the first time in 26,000 years, our sun and the earth are aligned with the dark rift of our galaxy, the center of the Milky Way. Why is this significant? Because we will be amongst the relatively few select souls throughout history, who will witness the birth of a whole New World at sunrise on December 21, 2012.

Many fear that it will be…once again, the end of the world. Others however believe that it will bring an expanded consciousness and awareness amongst people, and that it portends a transition into a new world, a new dimension. One that brings about a shift from separation to oneness. If we consider the technological, political and socio-economic events of the past 30 years, it becomes apparent that a rather significant and gradual shift has been occurring. We could debate all the pros and cons ad infinitum, yet that is not what this post is intended for. I will rather cover more insights here in the next few days.

For this last month of the year I have chosen a photograph of a partially frozen lake and the very poignant saying of R.A. Schwaller deLubicz, a well known Egyptologist.
