Life…what a gift we were all given to be able to experience and participate in all the marvelous and tremendously multifaceted miracles that manifest daily on this planet of ours. A gift that truly keeps on giving…in its very full and broad spectrum…from the fantastic events and experiences to the very challenging and trying ones. In their own way they all keep on giving, contributing to the richness of this thing that we all share – Life.

And regardless of the part of the spectrum the occurrence, the “it” may fall into on each of our own scales, the fantastic or the challenging, or somewhere in between, one thing is for certain – Life does go on, at least for the largest portion of the population. The key is how we adjust to “it”, how do we adapt? Do we accept “it”? Do we let go? Do we fight and rebel against “it”…? Or, if “it” does not make sense right away, do we try to find a reason of a higher order and accept “it” as an event that was meant to be in the first place and whose meaning will unravel in time? Do we learn from “it” and do better next time?

Over the past few months my life has continued to bring about many changes. All but one were very positive and promising, and it felt as if life had been put on fast forward once again, or as if someone had pushed the “amp up”button. For one, my ladyfriend and I chose to intensify our relationship and moved together. A rather complex yet fun, rewarding and colorful undertaking, especially with three children being involved. For another, my photography business has shifted gears again and I have enjoyed photographing numerous exciting and fun architectural photography assignments. Several new in and out of state projects for the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels brand as well as a number of new photography assignments related to architecture and interior design from my valued long term and new clients have made the past 6 months go by very fast.

And as so often before in my life, I was lead to the next right indicated segment in a rather synchronistic fashion. My path brought me to the fascinating world of sound therapy, and in particular to the wonderful field of Gong Sound Healing. The gongs are allowing me to share my creative spirit in yet another way outside of photography, I am now able to also create pictures with sound….

So the aspect that falls onto the truly “challenging” side of the spectrum is the fact that my sister continues her stark uphill battle with a very rare form of cancer which has been rattling her cage for the past 10 months. It is difficult to describe all the facets that this entails for a brother who is 5,000 miles away, let alone the physical and psychological challenges that she has been facing.

A dear and wise friend of mine told me not too long ago: “Welcome to where you are”. I therefore have chosen the photograph of beech trees reflecting in a pond in Germany to be the wallpaper for this month. It is left to each reader’s interpretation with regard to where they may be on their path at this time of the year.

November is the 11th month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian Calendars and one of four months with the length of 30 days. November was the ninth month of the ancient Roman calendar. November retained its name from the Latin novem meaning “nine“.

November is a month of spring in the Southern Hemisphere and autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. Therefore November in the Southern Hemisphere is the seasonal equivalent of May in the Northern Hemisphere and vice versa.

November starts on the same day of the week as February in common years, and March every year. November ends on the same day of the week as August every year.

In the pagan wheel of the year, November begins at or near Samhain in the Northern Hemisphere and Beltaine in the Southern Hemisphere.
